This is the first of a two book series that chronicle the events immediately after the Deep Space Nine episode What You Leave Behind. Martok, the newly minted Chancellor of the Klingon High Council, faces his first challenge as he returns to Qo’nos. A challenger appears, and a mysterious female reveal themselves and strip Martok of everything dear to him. Now he must fight to regain what he has lost and face the challenge of rebuilding the shattered empire. Qapla’!
