AER: Good Day to Dine – IKS pongHa’lu’

The crew of the IKS pongHa’lu’ gathered tonight for our first official Good Day to Dine.

We have gone out to eat after events before, but there’s something different about a 6pm dinner rush verses the midnight drunks.

We arrived in an assortment of shuttles and slowly gathered together in front of Chili’s Bar & Grill.

An Amazonian warrior named Brittany showed up just to meet us and get our picture. She would have liked to have stayed longer, but had other pressing matters.

The mundanes had left us undisturbed until Brittany got us to line up for her picture. ((We asked a random biker to take it for us.)) Once the first flash went off, cameras came out of everyone’s pockets and we posed for countless shots.

After the crowd died down, we went inside to get seated.

Our Terran server did a great job.

He quickly took our drink orders, and was even able to gain access to the off-menu Romulan ale.

He had no problem in getting in all of our various orders and demands. I’ve seen lesser servers do worse with smaller groups; this guy was to commended. I spoke with his superior later and praised him.

He even had our drink refills on the table before our first cup was empty!

All of the staff treated us with great respect and honor and are to be commended. We went to Denny’s after Into Darkness and our server didn’t even bring us our food. I had to stand up and get my own drinks.

The entire evening reflects positively on Chili’s and their staff.

The food was excellent.

One of the steaks came out overcooked, and I was very impressed with the way management stepped in to make sure all was in order.

During the meal, we had two families approach us and ask for pictures.

We toasted, sang drinking songs, and had great conversations.

We also gained two new members!

The event continued right where it began in front of the restaurant where we posed for several more photographs.

SanHuD noticed a frozen yogurt establishment nearby, and so we invaded it as well. No one took our picture, but they did ask several questions.

We were pleased to find a ready supply of candied gagh on hand. I’m munching on some as I type, actually.

The 3 cadets that were with us had a little too much sugar, and so to calm them down, cha”Iv, the head cadet, lead a moQbara’ exercise in relaxation.

Highlights include:

Passing out ship pins
Learning that SanHuD’s pin wasn’t resin, but rubber?
Hearing Kerdan say “May I have a piece of your gagh?”
SanHuD’s new forehead from Qob!
And Kadaj wrote a picture book called “The Happiest Vulcan”.
She even made a second copy for the ship archives.
I intend to read it before retiring for the night.
