AER – IKS roSwI’ – Star Trek Beyond Premiere

On Wednesday, I sent my father, tammuj, son of loD, to the Star Trek marathon that was happening by him.

He was able to see all 3 Kelvin Timeline films back to back to back and was one of the first people to see Beyond.
Swag was also passed out at this event.
I haven’t received a full AER from him because I was avoiding spoilers.
But he did call me while he was in line and I heard him chatting with the crowd and asking people what ships they belong to.
On Thursday, the IKS roSwI’ had plans to attend the 7pm premiere of Beyond.
While we had pre-ordered our tickets, our attendance wasn’t guaranteed.
During our last away mission to MiniCon, Romulans sabotaged my shuttle, Lt. Z.
The earliest the engineering crew at the nearest spacedock could get us in was that morning.
Thankfully the repairs were able to be done well in time, and we were able to go.
At the appointed time, Varra, cha”Iv, cheS, mIl’oD, and I boarded Lt. Z and headed to French Lick.
Once we were docked, a mother and small child complimented our appearance and kept calling us ghosts.
Somehow they thought we were here to see Ghostbusters…
The theatre attendant was smart enough to not have to look at our ticket stubs to know we belonged in Theatre 2.
We wanted to pose for a picture in front of a movie poster, but there wasn’t one.
But we were able to get a Terran to take our picture before the show started.
The turnout was good, but I wouldn’t call it crowded or packed.
We greatly enjoyed the movie, but I won’t spoil it for those that are slacking and haven’t seen it yet.
After the film, we posed for an additional group shot.
We were the only ones dressed up.
I didn’t see anyone from the local Feddie ship.
And no one approached us for a photo.
On the way back to the ship we stopped at Jay C where the cashier said she’s not a Star Trek fan, but has been wanting to cosplay other things and go to a Con.
We talked about Cons and cosplay for a second, but she had other customers to attend to. I’ll follow up with her later as I see her often.
In attendance:
Lieutenant Commander naHQun
IXL Captain Varra
Cadet Lieutenant cha”Iv
Cadet 2nd Lieutenant cheS
2nd Lieutenant mIl’oD
~Lieutenant Commander ‘anan naHQun-sutai ronIy, son of tammuj
CO IKS roSwI’
CO Cold Steel Quadrant
Supplemental report:
This reminded me of the 2009 premiere.
This is when I wore my forehead for the first time.
Where my wife painted herself green for the first time.
We showed up in uniform on our own, and were the only ones who did.
But from that one night, a ship was born and a crew was formed.
Now that I’ve moved away from that ship, it seems that I’m back where I was in 2009.
This isn’t a step back, though.
It’s an opportunity to build a new ship.
