Long time fandom member Dan Pocius of Bensenville, Illinois died Thursday, November 22, 2001. That he survived so long following a ruptured aortic aneurism suffered while attending Beach Bash in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, attests to his warrior fortitude. Dan was born August 2, 1945. He was a US Marine and served in Vietnam, and he was wounded twice in battle.

Dan had been one of fandom's most active figures: first as K'DanQ, XO of the IKV HoS tam of KAI, then as JuB-naD' ChoH of the IKV Aggressor and House of Jub, and after he joined KAG last year, as a crewmember of both the Emperor's Hand and the Valkyrie.

Almost everyone recognized him as "The Klin in the Hat" for wearing a Doctor Seuss stovepipe hat with his Klingon uniform.
