FROM THE COLD BLOOD
QUADRANT
Late Report From the KAG Kansas City Squadron
We have had a busy year [2011]. In the Fall we finished our Food
Collection for a family that has fallen on hard times. This is our
2nd annual
Adopt a Family for Thanksgiving in the Kansas
City Area. What we did is collect food items to put together a
Thanksgiving dinner and then some. Our three local ships donate
all of the items. There is no price limit on what we give, but we
do supply a turkey and all of the trimmings for a family we pick
at random. I am very proud of all of the members of the KC
Squadron for the work and unselfishness that they have shown the
last two years.
This is why we do this:
Our chosen Thanksgiving family this year was extremely grateful. I
got a hug from the dad (Bob); he and his mother both had tears in
their eyes. Bob's son who is autistic was shy, but excited; he
shook my hand. All in all it was a very rewarding day. Qotvu
(Rhonda Smith) was our Chairperson for this event and she was the
one that delivered the Klingon Thanksgiving feast.
