VIRTUAL TREK CONVENTION?

This latest bit of news may interest you net-heads. There is a Virtual Star Trek convention scheduled August 2-4, 2002 at http://www.vir-con.net/ . This includes some videocasts of Trek celebrities, as well as a 3D simulated environment of goofy-looking, shallow, cardboard convention-goers staring blankly into space -- JUST LIKE REAL LIFE! :)

The buzz around the internet says it's likely just a ploy to grab your email addresses for marketing. You be the judge, 'cause I'd be the last to suggest you should spend your money frivolously. Still, it may be an historic 'first' of which some readers want to take part.
