Klingon Wedding

It all started in 1972 in West Palm BeachFL where I met and Married my high school sweetheart.

41 years later we and some of are family arrive at the Star Trek Convention in Las VegasNV.  We were going to the convention with plans to have a SMALL renewal ceremony.  The wedding soon started to take on a life of its own.  It seemed the request I made of the hotel staff for a small room to hold the ceremony was passed to some of the vendors.  We were contacted by Trek Radio who had Star Trek Enterprise D Bridge deck display.  They ask if we would like to have it there.  At that point the vague ideas we had about doing a KLINGON wedding became solidified.  The ball started rolling.  The IKV Kahless-ro, The Las Vegas ship, invited us to there Klingon Gathering Friday, August 9, 2013 at 8:00pm PDT at Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, Nevada  It acted as a reception for our wedding and klingons from all over heard about the wedding.  When our support staff (our Son, Daughter, Daughter in law, two grandsons, a granddaughter and a great-granddaughter,) sprang into action.  They ordered 3 sheet cakes with our wedding picture on them and several bottles of sparkling wine.  No Blood Wine available.

So August 10 rolled around.  My Parmachi was taken to a different room and gowned so I would not see her till the ceremony.  We had pictures, video, and preacher provided by Las Vegas wedding service.  I should mention both my lovely Parmachi and I are in powered wheel chairs.   So after being positioned on the Enterprise deck mock up the wedding started.  The preacher read the tradital klingon vows we were both given Bat’leths.  We added a ring ceremony because we have wore matching rings for 41 years.

After the ceremony our staff passed out cake and wine to all who were there.  We had Vulcan Bell ringers, green aliens, fairy’s, and many other aliens.  Our staff took cake and wine to all the stars, many who came by to offer there congratulations’.  We had a GREAT wedding and plan to do it again in 40 years.
