InConJunction 2013

I did not attend myself, but am relating the tale as I understand it.

Fourth of July weekend brought InConJunction to Indianapolis.
Along with the other Con events, there was an Artemis room.
Artemis is a bridge simulator; you can read all about it here: http://www.artemis.eochu.com/

Battle simulations provide valuable training.

Our Gunner, Olivia (who had just turned 5), joined a simulation of total strangers as their Gunner.

No one made any negative remarks about age or gender.

They could tell that they were in the presence of a great warrior. When the Game Officials announced that there were only 4 minutes left in the simulation, the Captain, seeing that the situation was grim, decided to go out in a blaze of glory.

He ordered his final attack against three enemy ships. Olivia, knowing that it was a good day to die… for her enemies, fired a nuke at the center ship, ending the game, and allowing her ship to survive with a great victory!

If this had been an actual battle aboard an actual Klingon ship; I have a feeling they would have a new Captain by now…
