AER: IKV ta’veng at Marcon

Reporting: IKV ta’veng at Marcon May 9-11

Upon learning of a Sci-Fi/Fantasy convention in our general area, an away team was dispatched from ta’veng composed of our CO 2nd Lieutenant K’Temok, XO IXL Lieutenant Alin Prinna, and 2nd Lieutenant T’Starla. A friend of the crew whom we are attempting to recruit also joined us.

After some transportation issues, we were able to commandeer a shuttle to transport us the relatively short distance from the city of Cincinnati to the city of Columbus in the state of Ohio. Upon arrival we promptly secured quarters and our necessary identification badges, then set out to explore our surroundings. We saw a Bajoran, several Federation officers, and a couple of honorable Klingons as well as many strange species that we have not yet identified. There were also quite a few Humans in attendance, and we found that the convention was sharing space with many young Human females who had come for cultural (dance) and sporting (a Human pastime called ‘volleyball’) competitions. Many were clearly unaccustomed to the sight of different species. Hopefully this experience proved educational for them.

K’Temok and T’Starla participated in a blood drive in order to aid sick and injured civilians and warriors. There were various panels to attend, an art show and auction, and a large marketplace with items from all over this sector as well as parties in the evening. It proved to be a glorious weekend. In order to further recruiting efforts, KAG flyers were given out to convention attendees. We transported back on Sunday afternoon with plans to attend in the future.

End Transmission.
