Krikor’s Log: I haven’t gone to this convention since they moved to a hotel well north of Toronto city limits.  But this year they offered KAG a free table and two passes to go with it, so I talked to my XO grelbr and we decided to go up for one day.  We arrived Saturday morning and threw on our TOS outfits while we set up the table. Shortly thereafter I met with Karn, CO of the KAI ship in Ottawa, who was at the convention with the Ghostbusters fan club.  I spoke with him about plans for the Klingon Summit at Fan Expo this summer, and he pledged a carload of KAI warriors to come down and join us.  I spoke with L.Cpl L’Rel about plans for her Klingon Black Canary costume for the Klingon Justice League.  I spoke to Daniel Goodland of the 501st, who has been working on a TOS Klingon uniform for a while but had not yet joined KAG because his uniform was not quite finished.  I told him that, unlike the  501st, he doesn’t need a complete uniform to join the club. He signed up on the spot (choosing the name Grund), and went to change out of his Sandtrooper armor into his TOS uniform.  He’s a propmaker with access to a 3D printer, so he’s working on making TOS belt buckles, and he expressed an interest in producing TOS disruptors.  I also spoke with member Kulex, who also makes props, about the two of them working together on a props panel at Fan Expo as part of the Klingon Summit.  Besides Grund, we had another new recruit; the KAG table was next to the Toronto Browncoats table, so I had a chance to talk to Tonya who was sitting there.  M’Rel has spoken to her in the past about joining KAG; she finally signed up this weekend, and will be putting together an Intendant Kira Catwoman costume as part of the Federation of Doom.

I was not at the con on Sunday, but I hear that K’Lark, Taark, and Kulex were there in TOS for TOS Sunday.  There were also a few other members working at the convention out of uniform: M’Rok in the con suite, and Khor and his sister Ellena in the dealers room at their Glaxy Teas booth (I hear the Klingon Justice League teas sold well); members Z’tanna, K’tarra, L’Rel, Xyannis, Khaldraq, Kaiju, wejpong (Ira) were also present in human (or other) guise.  All members attending in uniform receive a battle notch.  Grund, with his first battle notch, is now a Warrior; wearing his uniform for the first time also means he earns a promotion to 2nd Lt., with the honorific of tai.  Kulex with his fourth battle notch is now a Skilled Warrior, and K’Lark with his tenth notch is now a Leader of the First Order.  Qapla’ to all of these warriors, and wiggedy, wiggedy!
