For over a year, Hos joH has been trying to make it out to one of our ship’s missions. However, being one of the busiest people on this human infested planet, she simply has not had the time to create a uniform or make it out to anything more than she was already running. Recently she came up with a solution: bring Qo’noS to her! She extended an invite to her Klingon brethren to attend a tasting of human delicacies called “Scotch.” As an added incentive, she announced a special KAG rate of $25 off for the event!
As the date approached, Hos joH coordinated with various humans to arrange venue, live entertainment, an assortment of Scotches to be presented by connoisseur Jim Blair, and matched with foods prepared by D! Chef. The event was held at the Campus Pub and Northern College, known as the Quill Lounge, and hosted by Luxe Entertainment, which is run by Hos joH herself.
Eager to enjoy an evening of revelry and fine drink with their shipmate, tlharnoQ and Maj’vIq boarded a transport and proceeded to the rendezvous point.
As host, Hos joH was there in human formal wear, but began the night by introducing our delegated, and presented herself by her Klingon name to the group. Though we were only 2 visible Klingons in a room full of humans, we generated a lot of interest. As the night progressed, more people approached us. Many already knew of the exploits of the Crimson Dawn – some even thanked us for our work in the community – and were eager to hear more tales of glory as we shared an evening of good drink and good company.
The 5 Scotches were selected by our expert to give a range of strength and flavour, from the subtle Glengoyne 15, to the sweeter Auchentoshen Three Wood, to the Glen Dronach, matured in both Sherry and Bourbon casks, to the slightly peated, surprisingly layered Jura Superstition, leading finally into the rich, smoky Talisker Storm.
Each selection was paired by D! Chef, a local professional chef and friend of the Crimson Dawn. Maj’vIq was supposed to take pictures of each, but failed to capture one of them as he was enjoying his Scotch.
With each round, Jim Blair told the story of the dram we were enjoying: the location and history of the distillery, the process by which it was made, what sets it apart from others, and both what tastes and scents to look for, and why they smelled and tasted that way. Some of the humans, being a more domestic species, turned to the Klingons to inquire about some of the more subtle points of the scents. He also brought up any points of interest with the particular Scotches. The Jura Superstition, for instance, was selected in recognition of the Islay Festival, happening in Scotalnd this past week. Though not an Islay Scotch, the Isle of Jura is next to Islay, so the distillery has long been included in the festival.
Attending in uniform were:
tlharnoQ
Maj’vIq
Hosting the event was Hos joH
It was a glorious evening! For a human, Jim Blair had an excellent grasp of flavour and scent. We enjoyed sharing insight and observations, as well as trading stories with him. Hos joH held an excellent event! She has urged all of our crew to join us for future Luxe events such as pairings, tastings, etc. which will be held regularly throughout the year. We look forward to many more nights of revelry!

Looks like it was a lot of fun… Too bad more of you crew did not join in the festivities… But, as you said, there is always next year.
A toast to you and your crew.
Availability an resources mean we have different people at different things. The more the better, but even 1 Klingon at an event garners attention in the community.
Looks like a Glorious event!
It was, indeed! The Talisker Storm was truly a drink worthy of a Klingon!
