To me, that meant that "Force Recon" is the education, training & 'welcome-wagon' part of KAG. It is also the recruiting part of the club. Three years ago, to satisfy that education and training role of the FR division I started printing up and distributing the Force Recon booklet - it's about the size of a typical MINDSCANNER or BLADE'S EDGE. Over the past few years a LOT of changes have happened in both KAG and Klingon fandom...fanzines have given way to 'web-sites' and such...the booklet became out-of-date. I kept revising and updating,..and 'revising' - you get the idea. That's the 'short' history of it...now the NEWS:

As for the "recruiting" part of FR's mission: Here's the idea that I discussed in 1996 with Fleet leaders: Fleet and Quadrant FR officers. I am asking that ALL KAG Fleets designate a warrior amongst them as their "Force Recon" officer...and eventually every Quadrant and ship in the club. This would not be a 'separate' position from what that warrior does already - but rather an expanded role and recognition for those who are already doing Force Recon kinds of things.

WHO are those people? you ask... They are the ones who are the best recruiters for KAG in your local area. YOU might be that person and not even realize it yet. A Force Recon officer is the one warrior who is usually hosting parties or helping new members get or obtain uniform parts and useful props and information. A Force Recon-type is the KAG member who makes KAG appealing to the average or 'rookie' Star Trek Fan.

Also, FORCE RECON is the 'catch-all' Division of KAG. when a new member to your group has not found their specialty or 'niche' they should temporarily be considered member/recruits of FORCE RECON. This is for training purposes only...until they have their Klingon uniforms and have discovered where they fit in with their local ship.
