>THE LONE K'RANGER<
by Amy Corral <[email protected]>
These are the stories of the IKV Dragon's Fire. Our crew ran into some interesting Terran traditions while working with some local children. We were asked to help them celebrate Easter, Military Child Appreciation Day and Armed Forces Day.

Evidently humans have a mythical creature called an Easter Bunny who delivers brightly colored eggs. Our young AlexKlagg decided to hunt for this creature. He almost caught it on more than one occasion but success eluded him. We know he's learned from the mistakes made during his hunt for Zantai Klaus but he made all new ones this time. We have hope he will be more successful with his next hunt. At least we don't have to rely on him for food!

At Military Child Appreciation Day, we ran a jail dispensing justice as we saw fit. We were joined by Baltek and his mate Grillka (formerly of the IKV Wraith) now serving on the IKV Stranglehold, who acted as our jailers. Human children get themselves into a lot of trouble but with Capt. K'Mar of the IKV Death Merchant serving as judge, sentencing was creative. Our jail had room for solitary confinement but we did not have any crimes committed that required its use. The jail did get very rowdy and we were glad of the help provided by Baltek and Grillka

The following weekend was spent at MCAS Miramar observing Armed Forces Day. There were many weapons of war for viewing as well as shows of old-style warfare. We helped with a craft booth. Between the jail and the craft booth, we were able to raise $90.00 for troubled children.

Lt. Cmdr. Kellien and Capt. K'Mar also walked to raise awareness for literacy. There had been a lot of talk on radio and TV about the new Star Wars movie and how fanatical Star Trek people are in comparison. We noticed during our walk that there were no Star Wars people walking (or at least there was nothing to identify them as such). However, members of the USS Miramar and Maquis Freedom Volunteers were very visible volunteering for the event and cheering us on. The event was very successful.

In other news, Lt. Cmdr. Melk-tag, XO of the IKV Dragon's Fire, is now epetai of the House of Stavones. She was the only member of her house not to serve on the IKV Desert Vulture thus being the only one to survive the destruction. She has plans to rebuild her house. Anyone interested in joining her may contact her at [email protected] or by mail at 10651 Trigal Way, Santee, CA 92071. The Dragon's Fire mourns with Melk-tag over the death of her family. The Desert Vulture will be missed.

Future submissions will include a report of the Kahl's trip to the

Tribble Homeworld. It seems that K'Mar "accidently" ate Kellien's

breeders at a recent Day of Honor celebration when the feasting got out of hand. Needless to say, more than tribble fur was flying when that was discovered! AlexKlagg, who has finally finished cleaning the reindeer emissions from the hunt during the Terran Christmas season, is now busy cleaning the tribble slaughter. Kellien and Melk-tag had been working on a book: 50 Great Tribble recipes. The Dragon's Fire crew can hardly wait for the book to come out - it means no more experimentation in the kitchen!
